Where do I start?
  • Ordering ribbons is easy!
  • Start by selecting a ribbon style that is appropriate for your event and fits your budget. The home page photo shows the different styles of ribbon we offer.
  • Select your ribbon and imprint colors.
  • Select appropriate options from the drop down boxes.
  • Select clip art or upload art if desired.
  • Input the text to be imprinted.
  • Type any request you have for layout in the special instruction box.
  • Select the NEXT option if you would like more ribbons like this with a variation in color, text and/or award title.
  • Select the BUY button if this product is complete.
  • You may now continue shopping or checkout.
Can you match a previous order?
    Yes, order details and sample ribbons are kept on file for three years. If you would like us to match a previous order please reference an invoice number, date or event so that we can pull your original order details from our files.
What is your minimum order?
    Our minimum order is $15.00. The minimum quantity varies from product to product and is shown on the product page. Some custom imprinted products will have an additional printing fee for short runs. This fee if applicable and the quantities associated with it will be found on our product pages.
How does Ribbons Galore imprint ribbons?
    We use a method called hot stamp foil printing. We place hand set type and dies into highly specialized equipment that uses a combination of heat, pressure and time to adhere foil to ribbon.
What colors do you imprint?
    Metallic gold is by far the most popular imprint color. We also print in the following metallic colors silver, black, red, blue, green, orange, purple and opaque white. Note: The white has unique characteristics; the foil does not print as cleanly as the metallic colors and is not as durable.
Can you Match PMS colors?
    Ribbon and foil are not manufactured to PMS color standards. You may use a PMS color as a reference and we will be happy to provide samples of both imprint and ribbon colors for you to review prior to producing your order.

What fonts do you have?
    With the handset type font choices are somewhat limited. We have the basic Block fonts and Serif fonts in standard and Italic faces. If you have a particular look or layout in mind please forward it to us via email or fax and we will likely be able to come close. If you need an exact layout we can have a die made from your e-file and the ribbons will be look just as you want them. Simply select the upload graphic option and note in the special instructions your intention to send the layout via email. You will have an opportunity in the checkout process to email your layout. Do you have any clipart I can use?
    Yes we have a large selection of clipart available for use at no additional charge. You can browse and select clip art while selecting options for your custom imprinted ribbons or rosettes, or view our clipart library now.
Can you imprint your pre-printed designs on a different ribbon color?
    Yes we can custom imprint our stock design for you on your choice of colors. To do this you will need to order custom imprinted ribbons. In the text portion of the order process let us know what design you would like to have imprinted.
Can you change the text in one of your pre-printed ribbon designs?
    Our pre-printed ribbons are printed with hot stamping dies that are not easily reconfigured. It is possible to have a new design created using elements of our stock deigns and your text. Contact us for an estimate.
Can you imprint my custom logo or artwork?
    Yes we can! Personalizing ribbons and rosettes is our specialty. You will see an upload graphic option. Upon completion of the checkout process you will have a prompt to email your artwork. See art specifications for more detailed information.
When/where do I upload my art?
    When you select the upload art option you will be given an opportunity to email your art to us in the checkout process. If you fail to include your art during checkout your order may be delayed but all is not lost. You may email your art with your name and order number to our Art Department
What is a die?
    Dies are etched engravings used to hot stamp graphics or text on to ribbons and buttons. If you have an image imprinted we will create a die and keep it on file for future use and no additional charge. Dies are kept on file for three years after their last use. See art specifications for more detailed information.
What do I put in the Special Instructions box?
Can I use more than one graphic on my ribbon?
    Yes you can use more than one image on your ribbons. Please let us know in the special instruction box where you would like each image placed.
Do you have any scrolls, trim or ornaments to dress up my ribbon?
    Yes you can browse scrolls, trim and ornament clip art while selecting options for your custom imprinted ribbons or rosettes. Note the image number you like and let us know what you would like and where you would like it in the special instruction box. If you would like one of our experienced staff members to select an appropriate design and/or placement please advise us in the special instruction box.
Where do you imprint the graphic on the ribbon?
    Graphic placement varies on each custom order. If you would like to specify the image placement please make note in the special instruction box. If you are not sure or if instructions are not given our experienced staff will be happy to arrange the text and graphics for you.
How many lines of imprint can I have?
    Imprint parameters vary on each of our products. You will find imprint specifications in the detailed description of each product.
How many characters can you imprint on one line?

Can I have more lines of type or characters per line than what is shown?
    Yes! The default parameters are based on hand set type. If you would like to have a die made we can imprint your layout exactly as you like within the limitations of hot foil stamping. Simply select upload graphic option and note in the special instructions your intention to send the layout via email. You will have an opportunity in the checkout process to email your layout. For more information see art specifications.
What options do I have for text layout?
    The prices shown throughout our website are for standard setup, straight line horizontal and vertical imprint. Non-standard text layouts include curved, diagonal text, three or more lines of vertical text, long and or extra condensed copy. See our helpful hints for additional text layout information. Non standard setups can be accommodated as graphics. Select upload graphic option and note in the special instructions your intention to send the layout via email. You will have an opportunity in the checkout process to email your layout. For more information see art specifications. If you have concerns about layout contact us and we will be glad to help.
Do you always center the imprint?
    The imprint is centered left to right unless you request otherwise in the special instruction box. Traditionally ribbons are printed with a greater margin at the top than the bottom. If you have specific spacing or text justification request please let us know in the special instruction box.
Do you always imprint in all upper case?
    We will imprint your text as you have input it into the text fields. Please review your text prior to clicking on the next or buy button. Our standard award titles are preset in all upper case. It is not uncommon for a ribbon to have the main body text set in upper and lower case text and to have the award text in all upper case.
Can you imprint in multiple colors?
    Yes we can! However due to the overwhelming amount of variables, printing limitations and additional printing fees associated with multi-color imprint we do not have the ability to process this option on line. A customer service representative can assist you with this. Contact us for a feasibility review, estimate and production time quote.
Can you imprint on the side streamers of a rosette?
    Yes we can! However due to the overwhelming amount of variables and additional printing fees associated with side streamer print we do not have the ability to process this option on line. A customer service representative can assist you with this. Contact us for an estimate and production time quote.
Will I get to see a Proof?
    In an effort to keep our prices as low as possible we do not have the cost of providing proofs built into our products. If you require a proof or preproduction sample please contact us for an estimate of cost and additional time needed. Note: production can not be scheduled until proofs have been approved.
Do you save my setup for reorders?
    The handset type metal is soft and tends to wear. We prefer to start each job with fresh new type. We will have a sample ribbon attached to you work order for future reference. We keep detailed records, samples, and artwork on file. Files inactive for more than three years will be purged.
How can I edit my personalization or options?
    Prior to placing your product in the shopping cart you may click on the option or text that you would like to edit. Once your product has been placed in the cart it can no longer be edited. If you need to make any changes simply delete the item from your cart and begin again.
Can I make changes to my order?
    Due to our fast order processing time changing an order can get complicated. Once an order is placed multiple production forms are created and distributed throughout our production facility to insure your order is fulfilled correctly and timely. Depending on the timing of your change request additional cost may be incurred and will be quoted as necessary. Any change in the ship date will also be noted at this time. Please review your order carefully in the checkout process.
What if I want an award title not shown as an option?
    If all of your ribbons are to be imprinted the same you may enter the award title in with your text. If you have more than one award title or variations of this ribbon you may want to use our variable text feature.
How does the variable text feature work?
    This option allows you to change a couple of personalized lines of text within your order and when used with the "next" button the total number of ribbons for each variation will be combined for quantity discounts. You may use this to have unique award titles or categories imprinted without ordering each set of ribbons individually. Note: a small surcharge is added for these imprint changes.
How do I use the Next feature?
    This feature allows you to change select options and the total number of ribbons for each variation will be combined for quantity discounts. If you would like to change an option that is grayed out and inaccessible you will need to finish this product by clicking the "buy" button and Start a new product. The quantity discounts are based on economies in production during the printing process therefore limited changes are available at the discounted prices.
Can I buy ribbons in a different size than those you have listed?
    Yes we can cut ribbons to your specifications. A customer service representative can assist you. Contact us with your request.
What is pinked edge?
    This is by far the most popular ribbon cut. /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ This cut is designed to keep the ribbon edge from fraying.
Can I get a straight cut?
    When ribbon is cut straight it frays and unravels therefore we do not offer a straight cut.
What is a dove cut?
    This ribbon cut /\ is used on the bottom of ribbons and looks like an inverted V. often referred to as a fish tail.

Flat and Badge Ribbon Questions:
Do bookmark style ribbons come with an event card?
    No, if you would like an event card to record additional information we offer peaked ribbons.
Do you sell hemmed ribbons with pins?
    No, we do offer an adhesive strip which can be applied to the back of our ribbons.
How long does the adhesive strip last?
    This varies on the number of times it is removed and replace and the material it is adhering to. Most people will get several uses from one strip.
Why use the Horizontal badge ribbon?
    Horizontal badges ribbons are designed to allow people to comfortably wear more than one ribbon at a time. Frequently people have a need to wear several ribbons at one conference.
Can I have the adhesive strip placed on the backside of the ribbon?
    We can apply the tape to the front or back of most ribbons. You will be given a choice during the ordering process.
Peaked ribbons?
    Peaked ribbons include an event card to record additional information and an eyelet and a string.
Can I get a peaked ribbon with a string and without the event card?
    The automated machinery used to fold the peak into the ribbon and insert the eyelet requires the use of an event card. You may select a blank card if you like.
Can I buy ribbons in a different size than those you have listed?
    Yes we can cut ribbons to your specifications. A customer service representative can assist you. Contact us with your request.
What is a duet?
    A Duet is a flat ribbon backed by a larger ribbon to create a layered look, often referred to as an overlay. We typically make these in the peaked format with an event card, eyelet and string.

Continuous Imprinted Ribbon Questions:
What is the difference between luxury satin and badge satin?
    Our luxury ribbon is a soft supple feeling single faced satin ribbon often used when a customer is looking for a little nicer finish and a softer touch. The badge satin has a bit more body and is ideal for making bows, personalized wrapping ribbon and economical event ribbons.
How often is the message repeated on rolls of ribbon?
    This is up to you! Do you want a 6" or 8" repeat? Or is it more important that you have a certain amount of space between imprints? Just let us know what you would like or what you are using the ribbon for and we can help determine the optimal layout for you.
Imprint questions?
How many ribbons will I get out of a roll?
    The number of ribbons on a roll varies pending on your imprint specifications and desires. A 6" repeat will yield 570-600 ribbons and an 8" repeat will yield 425-450 ribbons.
How do I figure out how much ribbon I should buy?
    Our ribbon rolls are 95-100 yards. Sometimes it is easier to calculate by the inch. Each roll will contain a minimum of 3,420 inches. If you would like help calculating how much ribbon will be required for your project contact us and one of our customer service representatives will help you. With our quantity discounts it is more cost effective to have a little ribbon left over than to be short and need to order more.
Can I order a partial roll of ribbon?
    We do not sell partial rolls of continuous imprinted ribbon.
Can I order plain un-imprinted ribbon to match?
    Yes! Many of our customers use additional blank ribbon with their custom imprinted ribbon.

How do you measure your rosettes?
    The dimensions given in our product descriptions are approximate. We measure the total length of a rosette including the top and streamers.
Do rosettes have event tags on the back?
    Yes all of our standard rosettes come with an event card on the back to record the winners name, date, and event. Note: our V-1 mini rosette does not come with an event card.
How big are the buttons in your rosettes?
    We use 2 ¼" buttons in all of our rosettes. We find that a maximum imprint area of 1 ¾" diameter works well.
What kind of buttons do you use in your rosettes?
    We use satin ribbon covered buttons with hot foil imprinting.
Can you imprint my logo or artwork on the button?
    Yes we can! Personalizing ribbons and rosettes is our specialty. You will see an upload graphic option. Upon completion of the checkout process you will have a prompt to email your artwork. See art specifications for more detailed information.
Can I have the year or an award title printed on the rosette button?
    Yes! You may choose from the preprinted award titles at no additional cost. These designs are imprinted with gold foil on traditional place colored satin ribbon. See the options box on the product page.

    We have a wide range of pre-designed rosette tops that can be assembled in your choice of color combinations. Typically we can find a combination of options that works for everyone. We are not currently building custom designed rosette tops.
What is a Bridle Tab?
    This soft piece of metal is incorporated onto the back of a rosette and was originally designed to allow the rosette to be hung on a horses bridle. Many people find this option ideal for other uses as well.

Sash Questions
Does ribbons galore offer sashes in various lengths?
    Our sashes feature a modular rosette that can be easily removed to allow you to trim your sash to the perfect length. We provide easy to follow instructions for sash length adjustments.
How many characters can you imprint on a sash?
    Standard pricing allows up to 16 characters and spaces. We do have a long format version of our sashes that allow up to 24 characters and spaces.
How big is the text on your sashes?
    Our stock sash font is 150pt approximately 1 3/8" high.
What font do you imprint sashes with?
    We print with a Times New Roman font.
Can you imprint a different font or logo?
    Yes we can. This will require art to be created and a die to be made. This is a costly option typically used when multiple sashes with the same imprint are being ordered. A customer service representative can advise you if you contact us with details.
How long should I expect a sash to last?
    Our foil stamped sashes are intended for limited use. The longevity of the material and durability of the imprint varies greatly from one customer to the next. We do not recommend this product for extended use.
